(Jan Ladislav Dussek:1760-1812) ドゥシーク、デュシーク、ドュセークなどの表記がございますが、ここではドゥセックとさせていただきます。

 バロックから古典派時代に移り変わって、鍵盤楽器も進化していきます。今日でいうチェンバロからフォルテピアノへの過渡期。その中で近現代までのピアノ協奏曲の形態を完成させるとともにより充実させ、さらに後世に発展のヒントまで提示したのは間違いなくモーツァルトです。それを引き継いだベートーヴェンは、そこにより個性を注入していくこととなります。
 またモーツァルトと同世代のクレメンティはピアノ奏法においてはモーツァルトの一歩先を行く存在で、テクニカルな部分などは後のロマン派のピアニスト作曲家の規範となるものでありました。それは楽器としてのピアノの構造もかなりの影響を与えているでしょう。

Dusik-4-1m そのピアノ協奏曲の発展と楽器のピアノ改革期に活躍したモーツァルトと同時代人のドゥセックは、作品制作活動の30年感の間に約20曲ほどの協奏曲を作曲しました。
 ボヘミアのチェスラフ(現チェコ共和国)で生まれたドゥセックは、20歳になる前に家を出て、北ヨーロッパを経由してサンクトペテルブルクに行き、その地でエカチェリーナ2世の寵臣となりました。ペテルブルクを去った後、1年間リトアニアのアントニ・ラジヴィウ公の音楽監督を務め、それから1780年代半ばに、ピアノとグラスハーモニカのヴィルトゥオーゾとしてドイツに旅立ったといいます。

 後にフランスに行ってマリー・アントワネットの寵愛を受け、ヴェルサイユを出入りする時の人となります。女王からは1788年にはミラノへの演奏旅行を断念するように言い渡されたほど、近くにいてほしかったということですかね。1789年にフランス革命が勃発すると、ドゥセックはフランスからロンドンに向かった。この間、ハープ奏者で作曲家のジャン=バティスト・クルムフォルツの妻と駆け落ちしている。

 ロンドンでも演奏家としてのキャリアが開花し、ハイドンから大絶賛された。ロンドンで楽譜出版社コッリ(has run)に協力して会社を興すが、後でこれは破産することになります。やがてドゥセックはクルムフォルツ夫人を捨てて、コッリの娘ソフィアと結婚した。ソフィアは歌手・ピアニスト・ハープ奏者であり、後に自力で有名になった。2人の間には娘ができたが、結婚生活はあまり良好なものではなかったらしい。

 1807年には、かつてのマリー・アントワネットとのゆかりの人物であったのにもかかわらず革命後にパリに戻り、フランスの外務大臣タレーランに召し抱えられたという。彼はその美貌で注目を集める部分も多く、支持者も多かったが、晩年は太ってかつての美貌の見る影もなく、最後は酒びたりになり体を壊して亡くなったとか。

 作曲家としてドゥセックが音楽史上で重要なのは、ピアノの「英国式アクション」を開発したジョン・ブロードウッドのピアノを弾く環境にあったことであります。ドゥセックの作品は、当時のピアノには出せない力強さや音域が必要だったので、ブロードウッドに音域と音響の拡大を迫って楽器の改良に寄与したらしいです。この最新のイギリスアクションと言われるピアノ演奏を想定しての楽曲は、ウイーン式アクションのピアノを使っていたモーツァルトとは方向性も性格も異なるものでした。初期はそれそこモーツァルトと同じようなピアニズムであるが、後期はガラッと変化していることがわかります。その響きはメンデルスゾーンやシューマン、ショパンなど、ロマン派のピアノ曲の作曲家の重要な先駆者とも言えるでしょうが、ベートーヴェンやフンメルと言った大家と比べると、果たしてどこまで知られていてどこまで影響を及ぼしていたのかは不明ですね。何せ後世の人のドゥセックについての言及が少ないのです。作品の評価も死後に受容されていったと言えましょう。

 さて、当ブログではよく紹介するハワード・シェリーの独奏と指揮を努めるピアノ協奏曲録音シリーズで、このクラシック音楽の愛好家の中でもマニアックな作曲家:ドゥセックのピアノ協奏曲シリーズ第二弾が発売されました。
 前作はト長調、ハ長調、変ホ長調の3曲。第二弾は変ホ長調Op.3、ヘ長調、ト短調です。

 Op.1は1783年作曲なので、モーツァルトが父への手紙に書いて報告した有名な「ハフナー交響曲を含む大コンサート」が行われた年、と言えば解る人は解りますね(笑)
 そして今回の収録曲変ホ長調Op.3は1791年という「モーツァルトの没年」であります。さらに彼のピアノ協奏曲の中で長大でドラマチックでロマン派的なのがト短調ですが、これは1801年に出版されています。1801年と言えばベートーヴェンが「プロメテウスの創造物」を初演し、ピアノソナタ「月光」、ヴァイオリンソナタ「春」といった名曲が生み出された年です。なんとなく時代背景が見えてきたかな?
 そんな時代に生き、活躍していた今ではあまり知られていないドゥセックのピアノ協奏曲を是非聞いてみてください。第一弾より今回の方が聴きごたえがあるト短調協奏曲が収録されているのでお勧めです。

Morean Is one of these composers that has written the rel;atively small start of compositions, but comprise some really lovely pieces. A bit it likes Finzi. It is a lot his time : mid 20th century, the contemporary of Bax, Bliss and Vaughan Williams. His music is tonal and has the lovely present for melody that mark his easy music to like. Steibelt Was the contemporary of Beethoven, but of course any in a same class. These concerts are in a way of composers like Estuaries, Field, Krommer and other worthy musicians of this time.
